What is crippling our financial institutions? Is it a systemic failure or a capacity issue of those assigned to administer them?
Many brilliant young and middle age men lost their jobs in the ministry of finance, Bank of South Sudan, NillePet and National Revenue Authority as a result of unfounded allegations of failure. Many appointments, dismissal and reappointments took place in search for what has proven to never be found. Their successors felt into the same trap and exited. Now with professionals at the helm of these instituions, the indicators remain the same with the same allegations of failure and incapability. So what could be the persisting problem exactly? What miracles do the public and the appointing authorities expect from an appointee in office for less than a year? Could there be a strategy to fail young skillful and energetic one and taint them as failures?
Can young men/women and middle age avoid these financial instituons to safeguard their integrities and resort to social service and political institutions and leave the finance to old age?
The problems in this sector are complex and difficult to address. Neither knowledge nor experience will revamp this sector for now until when the cartels accept that the country belongs to over 12 millions South Sudanese.
